Junsui’s History
Founded in 1998 under the original name of ‘Digi-tech Design’, Junsui Media started life as my personal online portfolio and slowly grew into my part-time Web Design company. It’s existed since the beginning of my experimentation with digital media and I used the itterations of my portfolio to show all my great work (and some of my not-so-great work too) and as an excuse to experiment with new techniques as I discovered them.
My initial concept for Junsui Media’s end game was to create my own company using the name and become a billionaire in a week; hardly realistic, but the enthusiasm was definately there! Sure enough, to this day, that same enthusiasm still exists however that target is still a fair way off and 80% of the reason for this is my other passion.. Motorsport.
I have aspirations to take Junsui Media into the realms of full-time design and development studios, and in time I hope this will happen, but for now, Junsui will remain my evening and weekend obsession, creating websites and graphics for companies and individuals at greatest possible value while I am still working the usual office hours in full time employment for a local Web Design Company, which I also truely enjoy.
Junsui Media continues to develop and evolve my skillset with each and every project I take on, in all variations, whether it’s..
- Visual identity, print or web graphics (Photoshop, flash, illustrator and Quark)
- Front-end development (CSS, xhtml, Javascript)
- Web development and database work (asp, php, MySQL, SQL, xml)
- Or my latest addition of programming for iPhone/iPad and iTouch (Objective-C)
..you can be sure I will do my very best to deliver the most accurate finished product that I can to match your brief. You only have to read the testamonials from my previous clients to realise how much passion is put into my work regardless of what it is, but overall, I hope I can use this drive to continue creating and enjoying what I do, and in turn, deepen my understanding of web technologies and trends as they continually evolve.
Personal Information & career Path
My name is Phil Maclachlan, born September 30th 1983 & I’m currently living and working in the London area, England. 9am-5pm I’m the ‘Lead Front End Developer’ working for vli Ltd in Reigate, focusing on bringing up to date web interfaces for web management systems, intranets, extanets and business websites. Current and previous clients include Iomega, Pira International, Headway, Stewarts Law, NetApp, UKGO and more.
Prior to vli Ltd, I was employed at ENG Ltd as a ‘Technical Services Developer’ working with Cisco VoIP technology creating bespoke management interfaces and phone app’s for two years, a position I was offered after working at Exeye Ltd who partnered with ENG and who I started out with as a entry level web developer. My first break into professional web development was with a web based startup company called PropertyPod, who then merged with NethousePrices. I was solely responsible for all technical points of daily running from internal IT services and support for staff, through to updating and improving the website and its functionality.
A diverse career path has lead me to where I am now, which has given me such a selection of skills and experience. Each opportunity with its own challenge and I am gratefull for every one of them.
Other Interests, hobbies and my thank you’s
Outside of work I’m heavily involved with various hobbies and money burning interests.. the primary finance muncher being my passion for motorsports and specifically drifting. Building, running and maintaining my car through out the season and then the constant development and repairs/improvement during the off-season makes for quite a hectic lifestyle when combined with my working career.
I also have a keen interest in eSports, where for several years I was a sponsored professional playing for the top uk team Team Dignitas, traveling across the UK to events as well as online tournaments. Today I still play when I have the spare time (not often!), but in a more relaxed ‘for fun’ capacity, instead of the intense training and time consuming practice I used to do.
As well as drifting, other hobbies that take my time are currently martial arts (Muay Thai and MMA) where I am training for fun as well as a regular gym user to keep fit. I am also a fan of other motorsports such as F1, Motocross/Supercross, Rally and several types of extreme sports, something which was a big influence and lifestyle choice when i was younger (inline agressive skating being my main love). Movies, music and my future wife, Alexandra who I love intensely & who supports me unconditionally round up my passions which make me…er.. me.
